Watta-boat rules

SAFETY EQUIPMENT Check that the assigned boat has the following:

  • Fire Extinguisher
  • First Aid Kit
  • Life Jackets (children 12 & under must wear them)

 GENERAL RULES

  • ALL PASSENGERS MUST REMAIN SEATED WHILE THE SHIP IS IN MOTION.
  • It is strictly forbidden to approach the local fauna
  • Keep hands and feet inside the boat at all times.
  • All non-motorized vessels have the right of way (kayaks, paddle boards, and sailboats).
  • Docking is not allowed anywhere other than Watta-Boat.
  • Do not tow water sports equipment, inflatables, toys, or other watercraft.
  • Please remove all trash at the end of the rental. In case of vomiting or spilling liquids, the cleaning fee will be charged (Cleaning fee = $200 pesos M/N)
  • Lower the volume of the sound system when you are close to the base.
  • Driver must be able to speak and understand english or spanish well.
  • Maritime law, which governs recreational navigation, prohibits the possession, use, transportation or sale of drugs or narcotics in the port and in the ocean.
  • The ship is not designed/built to navigate in the open sea, in case of trying or carrying it out, a fine of $100 USD (One hundred American dollars) / $2,000 pesos m/n (Two thousand pesos national currency) will be charged.
  • It is forbidden to smoke any tobacco product on the boats
  • It is illegal and strictly prohibited the possession and/or use of drugs in boats, as well as the operation of boats under the influence of drugs, such acts will cause the corresponding authorities to be notified.
  • Driver may not consume alcohol or be under the influence of alcohol while operating boats.
  • For their own safety, pets are not allowed, only certified assistance dogs.
  • Only the number of passengers allowed by the ship’s safety rules should be carried.
  • It is not allowed to transport goods or passengers in exchange for payment or carry out any other commercial activity, such as professional fishing.

MARINA RULES

  • Stay to the right side of the channels.
  • All non-motorized vessels have the right of way (kayaks, paddle boards, and sailboats).
  • Docking anywhere other than Watta-Boat rentals is not permitted.
  • Swimming is not allowed in the marina.
  • Fishing is not allowed in the Nuevo Vallarta Marina.
  • Stay at least 5 meters from rocks or boats. Failure to do so can run the boat aground.
  • Stay at least 10 meters away from other boats.
  • Don’t be an impediment to boat traffic, keep moving.
  • Keep an eye out for floating weed or other debris, as hitting it can damage the boat.
  • Always operate the boat at a speed that is comfortable for all passengers.
  • ALL PASSENGERS MUST REMAIN SEATED WHILE THE SHIP IS IN MOTION.
  • Keep hands and feet inside the boat at all times, do not dangle limbs out of windows and do not hang from Surrey’s top rails.
  • Do not remove the surrey top or windows.
  • Do not crawl, sit or stand on the bow or stern of the boat.
  • Any damage such as scratches to the fiberglass boat, punctures to the upholstery, missing windows or seat cushions will be charged against the damage deposit as well as cleaning charges.

EMERGENCIES

  • In case of emergency, contact our office; the phone number is on the ship’s dashboard on the white label.
  • All passengers MUST wear life jackets in an emergency; we recommend wearing life jackets at all times.

This document is written in its English and Spanish versions and is translated in good faith by the Responsible Party, however, it is understood and accepted that, in case of doubt or controversy regarding its interpretation, the Spanish version will prevail in all cases.
